    Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College Head Softball Coach Molly Rathbun, who hired this June to take over the Bantam program after three years at Muhlenberg College and an All-American playing career at Eastern Connecticut, was featured on this month's Bantam Spotlight Podcast with Mike Gualtieri.

    Hartford, Conn. – Trinity College has announced the appointment of Molly Rathbun as head softball coach.  Rathbun joins the Bantams from Muhlenberg College where she has been the head coach for the last three seasons. Rathbun helped the Mules to their highest win total in five years in 2019.

    Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College senior tri-captain SS Courtney Erickson (Everett, Mass.), sophomore OF Samantha Witmer (Drexel Hill, Pa.) and sophomore DP Hannah Zukowski (Burlington, Conn.) were each named to the 2019 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) New England All-Region Team while Erickson and Witmer were also named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Softball All-Conference First Team.

    Hartford, Conn. - Trinity College Head Softball Coach Caitlin Hitchcock, who guided the Bantams to a 279-267-1 overall record and nine NESCAC Championship Tournaments, has announced that she is stepping down from coaching to spend more time with her family.
  • Trinity Spring Student-Athletes Named To NESCAC All-Academic Team

    Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College spring athletic teams placed 65 student-athletes on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) 2019 Spring All-Academic Team, as announced by the league on Friday. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing on their team with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.

    Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College softball team beat the Hamilton College Continentals in the opening round of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Tournament before falling to Tufts in the semifinals on Saturday at Spicer Field on the campus of Tufts University in Medford.

    Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College softball team, which finished the 2019 regular season with an 18-13 record and in third place in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East with a 7-5 division mark, has qualified for the league championship tournament for the ninth time and the fourth year in a row. The Bantams, led by Head Coach Caitlin Hitchcock (17th Season), begin the post-season on Saturday, May 4 against NESCAC West opponent Hamilton College in the opening round of the NESCAC Championship Tournament at 9:30 a.m. at host Tufts University.

    Hartford, Conn. - With the month of April officially behind us, this year's 32nd Bantams of the Week have been named, thanks to their strong performances on the baseball and softball diamonds. Softball sophomore Hannah Zukowski (Burlington, Conn.) and baseball first-year Cameron Crowley (Downers Grove, Ill.) have been named as the Bantams of the Week.

    Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore CF Jenna Thomas (Orange, Conn.) went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored to help lead the Trinity College softball squad to a 3-2 victory over the Western Connecticut State University Colonials on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference softball matchup in Hartford. Trinity, playing as the away team after the game was moved to Hartford from West Conn's field due to rain, finishes the regular season with an 18-13 overall record ahead of this weekend's New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Championship Tournament first round game versus Hamilton College.

The Bantams conclude the regular season with a tilt at home Tuesday versus Western Connecticut State before traveling to Tufts this weekend to begin tournament action with a first round game versus Hamilton on Saturday morning.

    Lewiston, Maine - The Trinity College softball team came back from down two in the top of the seventh but ultimately fell, 5-4, in extra innings in the series finale with the Bates College Bobcats on Sunday afternoon in Lewiston. Today's game was the series finale between the two New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East foes after the originally scheduled game on April 20th was postponed due to rain.

  • Softball Storms Back to Win Second Game of Doubleheader With Wesleyan

    Hartford, Conn. - Down, 4-2, heading into the bottom of the fifth, the Trinity College softball team scored four runs to take a 6-4 lead and eventual victory in the second game of a doubleheader with the Wesleyan University Cardinals on Tuesday. The Bantams dropped game one, 11-6, in a inter-divisional New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) twinbill on Trinity's campus in Hartford. The Cardinals move wo 12-18 overall while the Bantams are now 14-12 on the year ahead of this weekend's NESCAC East series at Colby.

    Mansfield, Conn. - The Trinity College softball team staved off a late Warrior rally to come away with a 5-4 victory in the first game of a doubleheader on Thursday evening versus Eastern Connecticut State at Clyde Washburne Field. The Bantams dropped the second game, 10-0, to split the twinbill and move to 12-10 on the year.

    Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College softball team lost twice to the Tufts University Jumbos on Saturday, dropping game one by a score of 10-4, before falling in game two, 4-3. The Bantams, who defeated Tufts, 4-2 in yesterday’s series opener, fall to 11-9 on the year and 3-3 in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East. The Jumbos move to 22-6 overall and 7-2 in the division. Before today’s doubleheader, Trinity honored its two seniors, tri-captains Courtney Erickson (Everett, Mass.) and Nicole Towner (Erie, Colo.), as part of Senior Day.

    Hartford, Conn. - With two outs in the fifth inning of a 1-1 game, Bantam rookie Alex Chambers (East Lyme, Conn.) came up with the bases loaded and crushed a bases-clearing triple to centerfield to give the Trinity College softball team the lead for good as the Bantams defeated the Tufts University Jumbos, 4-2, on Friday afternoon in the first of a three-game New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) East series between the two schools.
