Trinity Softball Boasts Twelve NFCA All-American Scholars In 2019

Hartford, Conn. - Twelve Trinity College softball players were honored as 2019 Easton/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-American Scholar-Athletes. This honor was presented to Bantam 2019 captains Courtney Erickson '19 (Everett, Mass.), Nicole Towner '19 (Erie, Colo), and Lindsay Pressman '20 (Farmingdale, N.Y. '20), and to Madeline Spencer-Orrell '20 (Northampton, Mass.), Samantha Witmer '21 (Drexel Hill, Pa.), Cassidy Schiff '21 (Darien, Conn.), Kaitlyn DeCapua '21 (Milford, Mass.), Gillian Birk '21 (Westport, Conn.), Abigail Bass '22 (Somersworth, N.H.), Alex Chambers '22 (East Lyme, Conn.), Maura Keary '22 (Fairfield, Conn.), and Jordan Stephan '22. 

Pressman, Spencer-Orrell, Birk, Schiff and Witmer also graced the 2019 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Spring All-Academic Team. To earn NESCAC All-Academic honors, a student-athlete must have reached sophomore academic standing and be a varsity letter winner with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.5.  The Bantams are coached by Molly Rathbun (1st year). They finished the 2019 season with a 19-14 overall record and a 7-5 record in NESCAC conference play.
