Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College women's basketball team hosted a free skills clinic following its home game against Western New England on January 4. The clinic was designed for all levels of play and focused on skill development, shooting technique, and ball-handling skills. The event was a huge success with 50 kids from the Hartford and Greater Hartford communities participated.
"Running the youth clinic after our home game against Western New England meant a great deal to both our team and the fifty children who participated," said Bantam first-year Amanda Altman. "We suffered a tough loss prior to the clinic, but Coach Garner reminded us that being a mentor to the younger generation was much more important than the outcome of the game. For me in particular, this clinic meant a great deal because I absolutely love getting the opportunity to work with children, and teaching them drills and getting to chat with them was a time I will never forget."
"I'm extremely proud of our team for using their platform as student-athletes to make a difference in the Hartford community.," added Trinity Head Coach Emily Garner.
