  • Women's Ice Hockey Captain Alex Sinson Named Trinity's Top Junior Female Scholar Athlete

    Hartford, Conn. – Trinity College women’s ice hockey junior captain defenseman Alex Sinson (Elm Grove, Wisc.) was named the 2019 Board of Fellows Award recipient as the College’s junior female scholar athlete of the year. Sinson also joined by junior goalie Kai-Lilly Karpman (Playa Del Ray, Calif.) on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Winter All-Academic Team.

For several years now, Trinity’s Outdoor Education program has organized these exploratory trips over winter and spring break for small groups of students who are interested. These trips provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to fully engage in outdoor activities with members of the Trinity community from all different niches of campus.

    Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College women's ice hockey team, which finished the 2018-19 regular season with an 11-10-3 record and finished in fourth place in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) with an 8-5-3 league mark, has qualified for the league championship tournament for the 13th time and will host Amherst College (12-10-2, 8-6-2) on Saturday, February 23 at 4:30 p.m. in the NESCAC Quarterfinals.

    The Trinity College women's hockey team wrapped up the regular season with a series sweep of Bowdoin College thanks to two late game-winners in thrilling fashion. The Bantams return to the NESCAC tournament after a one-year hiatus and have appeared in 13 of the last 14 championships. The Bantams are the No. 4 seed for the second time since 2017. Trinity will face off against No. 5-seed Amherst at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Koeppel Center.

    Hartford, Conn. - With five seconds remaining in a 2-2 game, first-year Caelin Flaherty (Upton, Mass.) picked up the puck near mid-ice, raced towards net and scored the game-winning goal for the Trinity College women’s hockey team in a 3-2 victory over Bowdoin College. The Bantams finish the regular season with a 11-10-3 overall record and 8–5-3 mark in the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) and lock up the No. 4 seed and a quarterfinals home game in next weekend’s conference championship tournament.

    Hartford, Conn. - Sophomore Julia Lee (Ferguson’s Cove, Nova Scotia) fired a shot that was saved, but the rebound fell to rookie Angelica Mushenko (East Longmeadow, Mass.) who flipped a backhander into the back of the net to lift the Trinity College women’s hockey team to a 3-2 overtime victory over the Bowdoin College Polar Bears on Friday night in a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matchup at the Koeppel Center.

    Northfield, Vt. - The Trinity College women's hockey team fell to the No. 4-ranked Norwich University Cadets, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon in a non-conference battle at Kreitzburg Arena. The Bantams fall to 7-7-1 on the year while Norwich improves to 14-3-1 with its second win in a row. Trinity returns to action on Wednesday for a home non-conference matchup versus Plymouth State at 7:30 p.m. The Bantams and Panthers squared off earlier this season which resulted in a 4-2 Trinity victory on the road.
