Hartford, Conn. – Trinity College women's ice hockey junior captain defenseman Alex Sinson (Elm Grove, Wisc.) was named the 2019 Board of Fellows Award recipient as the College's junior female scholar athlete of the year. Sinson also joined by junior goalie Kai-Lilly Karpman (Playa Del Ray, Calif.) on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Winter All-Academic Team. Karpman, Sinson, sophomore Julia Lee (Ferguson's Cove, Nova Scotia) and first-years Bailey McKeon (Frisco, Texas), Cassidy McNeeley (South Easton, Mass.), and Julia Schiffman (Milton, Mass.) additonally graced the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholar List, and Sinson represented Trinity women's ice hockey on the NESCAC Winter All-Sportsmanship Team. The Bantams, coached by Keith Maurice, finished the year with an 11-11-3 overall record and finished fourth the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) with an 8-5-3 league record.
Sinson, who repeats on the NESCAC All-Academic Team, notched six assists for the Bantams while playing in all 25 games this winter. Sinson was also an American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American Scholar Team selection in 2017 and 2018. A graduate of Brookfield East High School, Sinson is majoring in political science at Trinity. She is the daughter of Sharie and Grant Sinson. Karpman totaled 597 saves with a .921 save percentage, a 2.10 GAA and a 11-11-3 won-loss record and five shutouts while starting 24 of Trinity's 25 games between the pipes this winter. A graduate of Fusion Academy, Karpman is majoring in English and gender studies at Trinity. She is the daughter of Jetta and David Karpman.
