Trinity College hired Sara Ugalde as an assistant women's ice hockey coach at Trinity College in the fall of 2019. A graduate of Middlebury College, Ugalde has coaching experience with NESCAC rivals Colby College and Williams College. Most recently, she worked as a coach and director with the Connecticut Junior Rangers. Ugalde earned her bachelor's degree in psychology and sociology in 2014 from Middlebury, where she was a captain, an All-NESCAC First Team honoree and helped the Panthers win two league titles and qualify for three NCAA Tournaments. A prolific scorer, Ugalde finished her collegiate career with 40 goals and 42 assists for 82 points. Ugalde began her coaching career in 2014-15 at Colby and moved on to Williams for one year in 2016-17. Two seasons ago, she was an assistant coach with the Connecticut Whale of the National Women's Hockey League. Ugalde spent the 2018-19 season creating and organizing a 16U and 19Y split-season program for girls' ice hockey with the Connecticut Junior Rangers.
