Bristol, R.I. - First-year heavyweight John O'Brien (Reading, Mass.) went 2-2 and finished fifth in his division, as the Trinity College Bantams sent several competitors to Roger Williams University for the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) Futures Tournament this afternoon.  O'Brien posted a 9-2 decision in the first round and pinned his opponent in 1:09 in the quarterfinals to advance to the semifinals against Johnson and Wales University's Mike Larm.  Larm won by fall against O'Brien in 3:42.  Trinity junior 184-pounder John Davis III (Princeton Junction, N.J.), sophomore Fumihiro Tamada (Okayama, Japan), and freshman 197-pounder Justin Pursley (Poway, Calif.) each won twice.  Pursley ended up third in his six-man bracket and Davis was sixth.  Trinity finished 11th of 12 teams with 24.5 points and Johnson and Wales was first with 162 points.
