Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College wrestling program took on three teams, traveling to Western New England Saturday afternoon. The Bantams saw Alvernia, Southern Maine, and Western New England, falling to all three teams despite a handful of great individual performances.
After dropping a 25-15 decision to Alvernia, a 33-15 loss to Southern Maine was followed by a 33-15 setback to Western New England. Still, a pair of Bantams stood tall on the afternoon, keeping Trinity on pace during the four-team meet.
Senior Lukas Kaminski (Hopkinton, Mass.) had an outstanding afternoon for the Bantams, winning all three of his bouts in the 165-weight class. After winning 15-9 against Alvernia’s Tanner Vogel and Western New England’s Jeff Suschana, a pin against Southern Maine highlighted Kaminski’s day.
First-year Isaiah Bailey (Westerly, R.I.) also paced the Bantams on the afternoon, picking up three wins to match Kaminski. After a decision against Western New England, the first-year picked up pins against Southern Maine and Alvernia in the 174-weight class. Junior John O’Brian (Reading, Mass.) also picked up a pin against Western New England, taking his lone win in the 285-weight class.
