Trinity Women's Rowing Finishes Fourth In Rollins College Spring Break Race

Winter Park, Fla. – The Trinity College women's novice eight crew finished second in a three-boat race against two boats from the University of Florida Club squad, as the Bantams opened the 2018 spring season in the Rollins College Spring Break Race on Lake Maitland this afternoon.  Trinity's varsity eight came in fourth place in its race and the second-varsity eight was third.  The Bantam novices recorded a time of 7:30.3, which was 9.5 off the first-place pace and way ahead of third.

In the varsity-eight race, Trinity posted a time of 6:58.1, which was two seconds shy of Florida's third-place time.  The Wesleyan crew won the race at 6:39.4 on a dead flat course with no wind over 1,950 meters, and the host Rollins Tars were second.  Wesleyan also won the second-varsity eight race, followed by Florida, Trinity, and Rollins.  The Bantam crew finished in 7:24.8 to best the Tar crew by 37 seconds.  Trinity is off until a race at Hamilton College on March 31.
