    Hartford, Conn. - Women's rowing senior co-captain Julia Gorka (McLean, Va.) was selected as Trinity College's 2019 senior female athlete of the year (Susan E. Martin Award), while Bantam sophomore Claire Grigglestone (Groton, Mass.) was named to the New England Rowing Championships (NERC) All-Scholar Team to highlight a lengthy list of academic honors for the Bantams oarswomen this season.
  • Trinity Spring Student-Athletes Named To NESCAC All-Academic Team

    Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College spring athletic teams placed 65 student-athletes on the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) 2019 Spring All-Academic Team, as announced by the league on Friday. To be honored, an individual must have reached sophomore academic standing and be in good standing on their team with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50. A transfer student must have completed one year of study at the institution.

    Hartford, Conn.- Trinity College women's rowing junior Kirsten Thiim (Acton, Mass.) has been named to the 2019 New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference Second Team.
  • Trinity Women's Rowing Finishes Sixth In Petit Final At NIRC Regatta

    Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College women's varsity eight finished sixth in the petit final with a time of 7:14.845, as the Bantams closed the 2018-19 season in the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond this afternoon.  Trinity's second-varsity eight also finished sixth in its petit final, and its third-varsity eight was fourth in its petit final.  Bates won the NIRC and the NESCAC title with its first-place finish in the grand final.  Trinity finishes seventh in the NESCAC, just over 3.2 seconds behind Colby.  Smith won the petit final with a time of 6:58.373.  Trinity's third-varsity eight posted a time of 7:38.988 to qualify for the petit final, and a time of 7:40.798 in the petit final. Trinity totaled 96 points in the Overall Points Trophy Standings, good for 11th place and just one shy of Hamilton in 10th place.  Rochester Tech was 12th with 78 points, and Wellesley won the team standings title with 219 points.  In the Men's and Women's Overall Points Trophy Standings, the Bantams finished 13th with 181 points.  Bates won that title with 391 points, while Hamilton was 12th with 205 points, and Rochester Tech was 14th with 169 points.

    Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College women's rowing team, which recorded a 5-10 record in varsity-eight dual races and finished fifth in the petit final at the New England Rowing Championship (NERC) Regatta on Saturday, will compete in the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) Regatta on Sunday, May 8 on Lake Quinisigamond in Worcester, Mass.

    Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College women’s rowing varsity eight edged out the crew from RIT to finish fourth in a race also featuring WPI, Bates and Wellesley on Sunday at Lake Quigsagamond in Worcester. The Bantams finished in 6:57.73, just beating RIT’s varsity eight which crossed the finish line just .57 seconds behind Trinity.

    Malden, Mass. - The Trinity College women's varsity eight took down two opponents ranked among the top 15 in the nation this morning on Malden River, as the Bantams bested the No. 14-ranked United States Coast Guard Academy Bears and the No. 7-ranked Tufts University Jumbos in separate women's rowing races this morning.

    Hartford, Conn. - Four former alumni of the Trinity College men's and women's rowing teams were selected to the 2018 World Rowing Championship Roster and competed at the event this month. John Graves '10 and Alexander Loy '15 of the men's program and Jillian Zeiff '14 and Jen Sager '16 were selected among the 72-person roster that represented the United States at the 2018 World Rowing Championships this month in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
  • Women's Rowing Announces Spring Schedule Ahead of 2019 Opener
    Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College women's rowing team, led by Head Coach Heather Barney (3rd Season), has announced its schedule for the 2019 spring semester. After a successful fall, highlighted by having the fastest Division III boat in the collegiate fours race at the Head of the Charles Regatta and finishing 10th at the Head of the Fish Regatta, Trinity will take to the water seven times this spring.
