Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College women's varsity-eight crew finished fifth in the petit final with a time of 7:19.397 in the New England Rowing Championship (NERC) Championships this afternoon on Lake Quinsigamond. Trinity finished just 0.03 seconds behind fourth-place Vermont and well over four seconds faster than sixth-place Mount Holyoke Bates won the grand final at 6:47.548. In the second-varsity eight petit final, Trinity came in sixth place with a time of 7:53.866. Smith won the petit final and Bates won the grand final. In third-varsity eight racing, Trinity came in third in the petit final with a time of 7:54.918.In the NERC Overall Points Trophy Standings, Trinity came in 13th place with 28.15 points. Bates won the Overall Points title with 93.0 points. Trinity was also seventh in the Men's and Women's Overall Points Trophy Standings with 79.20 points. Bates also won that crown with 162.75 points.
