Trinity Women's Rowing Finishes Sixth In Petit Final At NIRC Regatta

Worcester, Mass. - The Trinity College women's varsity eight finished sixth in the petit final with a time of 7:14.845, as the Bantams closed the 2018-19 season in the National Invitational Rowing Championship (NIRC) Regatta on Lake Quinsigamond this afternoon.  Trinity's second-varsity eight also finished sixth in its petit final, and its third-varsity eight was fourth in its petit final.  Bates won the NIRC and the NESCAC title with its first-place finish in the grand final.  Trinity finishes seventh in the NESCAC, just over 3.2 seconds behind Colby.  Smith won the petit final with a time of 6:58.373.  Trinity's third-varsity eight posted a time of 7:38.988 to qualify for the petit final, and a time of 7:40.798 in the petit final.

Trinity totaled 96 points in the Overall Points Trophy Standings, good for 11th place and just one shy of Hamilton in 10th place.  Rochester Tech was 12th with 78 points, and Wellesley won the team standings title with 219 points.  In the Men's and Women's Overall Points Trophy Standings, the Bantams finished 13th with 181 points.  Bates won that title with 391 points, while Hamilton was 12th with 205 points, and Rochester Tech was 14th with 169 points.
