Trinity Women's Crews Finish As Runner-Ups In Two Races At Head Of The Housatonic Regatta

Derby, Conn. - The Trinity College women's rowing team entered evenly-boated crews in the eights race for the second week in a row, and wound up finishing second and fourth, respectively, in the Collegiate Women’s Non-DI event at the Head of the Housatonic Regatta on the Housatonic River this afternoon.  Trinity's entry in one of the fours races finished 11th against predominantly Division I competition, and the Bantam second four finished as the runner-up in the Non-DI race.

"Both boats made some improvements from last week, and we were pleased to see the strength of the whole team on display," said Trinity Head Coach Heather Barney.  "Our four in the DI Race did a nice job holding their own against some strong competition, and our second four made some nice progress from the previous week as well. We’re looking forward to seeing those two crews racing in Boston at the Head of the Charles on October 21.  As a whole team we now have our sights set on the Head of the Fish in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. on October 27, where our new novice athletes will have their collegiate debut, and we’ll race our V8 and 2V8 for the first time this year."
