Trinity Women's Crew Takes Third In Collegiate Fours Race At Head Of The Charles Regatta

Cambridge, Mass. - Trinity College's "A" entry in the collegiate fours race at the Head of the Charles Regatta on the Charles River this afternoon finished third of 40 boats with a time of 21:27.36.  The bronze medalists finished almost seven full seconds ahead of the fourth-place crew from Carleton and 14.64 seconds behind second-place Barry.  Florida Tech won the race at 20:48.312.  Trinity's "A", including junior Kirsten Thiim (Acton, Mass.), sophomores Lillian Belletete (Jaffrey, N.H.), Claire Grigglestone (Groton, Mass.), Aria Mildon (Vashon, Wash.), and junior coxswain Zoe Russell (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.), was the fastest Division III boat in the race, and its "B" entry added a 12th-place time of 22:12.902.  The Bantams will complete the fall season in the Head of the Fish Regatta at Skidmore on Saturday.

"We were really pleased with our performances today," said Trinity Head Coach Heather Barney. "The women handled the challenging conditions really well. Zoe Russell and Courtney Robb, were both coxing the race for the first time, and did a great job handling multiple passing situations and significant traffic on the race course. We're excited to head to Saratoga next week for the Head of the Fish, where we'll race our varsity eight against some great competitions including conference rivals Williams, Tufts, Wesleyan, Middlebury and Amherst.
