Trinity Women's Soccer Announces 2018 Schedule

Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College women's soccer team, under the guidance of Head Coach Michael Smith (19th season), has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2018 season. In total, the Bantams will take to the pitch 15 times this fall, highlighted by nine contests in front of their home crowd. The team will have 10 crucial New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) contests, as they look to advance to post-season play for the sixth year in a row.

Trinity is coming off a 7-7-2 campaign in which they finished with a 5-4-1 mark in NESCAC action to finish in fifth place and earn a bid to the league's championship tournament for the fifth straight year. The team's season ultimately ended at Tufts with a hard-fought, 1-0 defeat, but the future looks bright for the young Bantam squad that will return plenty of firepower in 2018.

Trinity will open the year versus Farmingdale State University on the road on September 5, the first of three away games to start the calendar. The Bantams then travel to defending National Champion Williams on September 8 for their first conference matchup of the fall before taking to the road for a September 15 match at Hamilton. Trinity opens play on its home pitch on September 16 versus Worcester Tech before four more home games, versus Emerson (9/19), Colby (9/22), Wheaton (9/25) and Bates (9/29), to close out the month of September.

The Bantams will begin October with back-to-back road matches, beginning with a contest against in-state conference rival Wesleyan on October 2. On October 6, Trinity travels to Maine to take on the Bowdoin College Polar Bears. The squad then returns to Hartford for a four game homestand, featuring games versus Middlebury (10/13), Tufts (10/14), Connecticut College (10/18) and Eastern Connecticut State (10/21). The Bantams round out the regular season campaign with an October 23 game at Amherst scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Trinity's 2018 schedule features six opponents that took part in the 2017 NCAA Tournament, five of which are NESCAC teams. Farmingdale State is the other team, whom Trinity opens the season with.
