Trinity Women's Squash Returns With Victory Against Cornell

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College Bantams returned to action on the women’s squash court this afternoon an impressive fashion with an 8-1 victory over the No. 7-ranked Cornell University Big Red this afternoon at Kellner Center.  Trinity, ranked No. 6 nationally, improve to 4-1 after a season-opening loss and will visit No. 8-ranked Columbia on Wednesday at noon.  The Big Red drops to 3-2.

Trinity welcomed back All-American junior Anna Kimberley (Colchester, England) from a semester abroad, and she delivered in her first competition of the season with an 11-3, 11-3, 11-6 win in the No. 4 spot in the lineup.  Bantam first-year Jennifer Haley (Caldicot, Wales) won, 11-2, 11-6, 11-3, in the No. 6 position in her collegiate debut, while senior co-captain Kanzy El Defrawy (Cairo, Egypt) and sophomore Ranaam Sharaf (Giza, Egypt) and Salma El Defrawy (Cairo, Egypt) also won by 3-0 scores.
