Trinity Women's Swimming And Diving Wins Five Races At Tech Sprints

Worcester, Mass. - First-year breaststroker Serena Ly (West Newton, Mass.) posted two of Trinity College's five first-place finishes, as the Bantam women's swimming and diving team tuned up for its conference championships later in two weeks with an impressive overall experience in the Tech Sprints at Worcester Polytechnic Institute this afternoon.  Ly won the 50-yard race with a time 31.19 and the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:09.17.  Fellow Bantam rookies Zory Matlashewski (Anoka, Minn.) and Ruby Schiller (Cambridge, Mass.) won the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:10.78 and the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 59.51.  Trinity junior Audrey Ettinger (New Canaan, Conn.) rounded out the winning swims with a first-place time of 1:02.52 in the 100-yard IM.

Ettinger also posted a second-place time of 27.80 in the 50-yard butterfly and a third-place time of 12.63 in the 25-yard butterfly, while Bantam sophomore Katherine Greer (Summit, N.J.) was was .36 behind Schiller for second place in the 100-yard fly.  Ly came in second and Trinity first-year Anastazia Chin (Kingston, Jamaica) was third in the 25-yard breaststroke at 14.36 and 14.51, respectively.  Trinity's 200-yard medley highlighted the Bantam relays with a second-place performance by Ettinger, Schiller, sophomore Grace Gorman (Sudbury, Mass.), and first-year Olivia Fournier (Southington, Conn.).
