Waltham, Mass. - The Trinity College women's tennis team dropped a Saturday afternoon match to the Brandeis University Judges, 8-1, at the Gosman Athletic Center in Waltham. Trinity falls to 3-3 on the year in dual matches while Brandeis, ranked No. 20 in the country, improves to 6-2 overall. The Bantams return to action on Thursday, March 29, when they travel to New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) opponent Tufts University.
Trinity was swept in doubles play but proved a tough out at the No. 1 spot as co-captain Vanja Babunski (Belgrade, Serbia) and sophomore Julia Brogan (Falmouth, Maine) fell, 8-6. Brogan went to work in No. 2 singles, taking the first game, 7-6, but dropped the next two. Babunski cruised at the No. 1 singles spot, winning 6-4, 6-2, for Trinity's lone point.
