Trinity Women's Tennis Blanked By Bowdoin In California

Redlands, Calif. - The Trinity College Bantams lost a New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) women's tennis match to the Bowdoin College Polar Bears, 9-0, at Redlands University this afternoon.  Trinity falls to 1-2 overall and 0-2 in the NESCAC, while No. 12-ranked Bowdoin is now 5-1 overall with the win in its conference opener.  Trinity plays Salisbuty in its next match on Thursday at 1 p.m. on a neutral court in Claremont, Calif.  Bantam juniors Julia Brogan (Falmouth, Maine) and Elena Pellegrini (Leghorn, Italy) put up a good fight at No. 1 doubles, but lost, 8-5, while first-year Ashley Walker (New Canaan, Conn.) battled in her first set to a 7-5 defeat before dropping the secons set, 6-0.  All six singles points came on straight-set victories by the Polar Bears.
