Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College women’s tennis program started its 2020 spring season with a dominating win, toppling Smith 9-0 at home Saturday afternoon. Trinity didn’t allow a point in the six singles matchups and gave up just two points in doubles.
In singles, first-year Isabella Hartman (New York, N.Y.) , senior Elena Pellegrini (Leghorn, Italy), senior Jillian Winer (Bolton, Mass.), and senior Krista Jiranek (Owings Mills, Md.) all won 6-0, 6-0 in singles; senior Julia Brogan (Falmouth, Maine) went 6-2, 6-0 in her matchup. In doubles, the tandem of Winer and Pellegrini won 8-0 as did junior Lily Everett (Nassau, Bahamas) and senior Morgan Wilkins (Halesite, N.Y.). The duo of Hartman and Brogan won their contest 8-2.
Trinity returns to action in seven days, playing host once again to Bowdoin; match time is slated for 12 p.m.
