Northampton, Mass. - First-year Sophie Long (Darien, Conn.) won the 1,000-yard run with a time of 3:15.45, as the Trinity College Bantams opened the 2013-14 women's indoor track and field season in the Smith College Invitational this afternoon. Fellow Bantam rookie Katie Tonyai (Jaffrey, N.H.) added a College-record time of 26.69 in the 200-meter dash, finishing second overall and .18 seconds behind the winner, and junior Megan Darnley (Westborough, Mass.) shattered her own record by four inches by clearing 10 feet in a third-place performance in the pole vault.
