Boston, Mass. - Sophomore Olivia Reny (Gardiner, Maine) and first-year Katie Tonyai (Jaffrey, N.H.) set College records, as the Trinity College Bantams competed against top athletes and teams from clubs and all collegiate divisions at Boston University's David Hemery Valentine Women's Indoor Track and Field Invitational this afternoon. The majority of Trinity competitors in the meet set new personal records in one or more events.
Reny came in 49th place with a time of 59.05 in the 400-meter dash, shattering Trinity's previous indoor mark, set by Kristi Wallin in 2005, by 1.29 seconds. Tonyai's time of 26.61, good for 106th place, was .07 seconds faster than her own indoor record in the same event set in December. Bantam junior Megan Darnley (Westborough, Mass.) added a 12th-place mark of 10'11.75" in the pole vault, and classmate Jenna Wilborne (New Haven, Conn.) placed 25th in the triple jump at 35'06.00". In throws, junior Lily Talesnick (Littleton, Colo.) heaved the shot 33'06.75" for 34th place.
