Winston-Salem, N.C - Senior tri-captain Jenna Wilborne (New Haven, Conn.) tied for ninth in the triple jump and placed 13th in the long jump at the NCAA Division III Championship Meet at the JDL Fast Track this weekend. Wilborne jumped 37'11.50" in the triple jump to miss out on scoring by two inches. In the long jump, Wilborne posted a distance of 16'11.50".
Wilborne had boasted the nation's fourth-best top triple jump distance of 11.91 meters and the eighth-best top long jump distance of 5.62 meters entering this weekend. Wilborne qualified as a triple jumper in both indoor and outdoor track and field last season, finishing 16th at the 2013-14 indoor championships and ninth at the 2014 outdoor championship meet. This winter, Wilborne won the New England Division III triple jump title and Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship long jump crown during a banner senior campaign.
