Middletown, Conn - Junior Anna Barnes (Storrs, Conn.) won the 1500-meter run to highlight a series of top Trinity finishes for the women's outdoor track and field squad at the Wesleyan University Spring Classic on Saturday afternoon. Barnes won the 1500-meter by five seconds, and was a part of Trinity's 4x400-meter relay team, along Lauren Barrett (Peabody, Mass.), Nina Bourgeois (Rochester, Mass.), and Julia Burdulis (Hopkington, Mass.), that fell just short in the finals after posting the fastest preliminary time of 4:12.00.
The Bantams claimed the top three finishes in the 3000-meter as senior captain Briana Daley (Oak Park, Ill.) recorded a first place 11:02.67, while classmate Hannah Ells (Amesbury, Mass.) and Bourgeois inished in second and third, respectively. Also in the 1500-meter run, sophomore Samantha Feenstra (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) turned in a third-place finish for Trinity.
Trinity had five runners finish in the top-ten in the 400-meter dash as junior Morgan Hallow (Charlotte, N.C.) finished second at 1:02.14, while sophomore Katie Lazur (East Hanover, N.J.) was 0.4 seconds behind Hallow to place third. Abbey Allardi (Reading, Mass.) was second in high jump with a distance of 1.54m while Samantha March (Glastonbury, Conn.) and Katherine Bullock (Cape Neddick, Maine) placed second and third in the long jump, respectively, to highlight the field events for Trinity.
