Trinity Women's Track and Field Finishes Second at Tufts Snowflake Classic

Medford, Mass. - The Trinity College women's outdoor track and field tallied 88.50 points, more than 24 points better than third-place Connecticut College, to place second at the Tufts University Snowflake Classic on Saturday afternoon in Medford. The Bantams return to the track next weekend for the Coast Guard Invitational in New London. 

Sophomore Katie Marlow-Benedick (Weston, Mass.), junior Morgan Hallow (Charlotte, N.C.) and rookie Samantha March (Glastonbury, Conn.) took home second, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 100-meter dash. Marlow-Benedick finished second in 13:02 and also won the 200-meter dash with a 25.24 finals time. First-year Emma Buckley (Hanover, Mass.) finished .73 seconds behind Marlow-Bendick for second, while junior Katie Lazur (East Hanover, N.J.) turned in a seventh-place finish. Hallow also placed third in the 400-meter dash while Buckley came in two spots behind her. 

In distance events, junior Anna Barnes (Storrs, Conn.) brought home third in the 1,500-meter run, finishing less than four seconds off the lead. Sophomore Samantha Feenstra (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) had a strong outing with a fifth-place showing in the 5,000-meter run while classmate Hannah Neufield (Burlington, Mass.) brought home the same place in the 400-meter hurdles. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, sophomore Nina Bourgeois (Rochester, Mass.) finished fourth with a finals time of 12:00.74. Rookie Isabella Bruno (Winchester, Mass.) added to Trinity's top-three finshers with a third-place mark in the high jump. Sophomore Katherine Bullock (Cape Neddick, Maine) also finished third in the triple jump while another third-place finish was added by sophomore Peace Kabari (Manchester, N.H.) while classmate Devan Walsh (Danvers, Mass.) took sixth in the javelin.
