Springfield, Mass. - The Trinity College women's track and field team competed at the Massasoit Classic at Springfield College on Saturday. The Bantams enjoyed a handful of strong performances and return to action on Friday for the New England Open Championships at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
Junior Morgan Hallow (Charlotte, N.C.) won the 200- and 400-meter dashes and also finished third in the 60-meter dash in a strong day of sprints. Sophomore Emma Buckley (Hanover, Mass.) finished behind Buckley in the 400-meter dash for a second-place performance. Senior Anna Barnes (Storrs, Conn.) turned in a 2:26.89 finish in the 800 to beat the rest of the field by nearly four seconds.
Trinity dominated in the 3,000-meter run, taking the top three spots in the race. Senior Lauren Barrett (Peabody, Mass.) took first at 10:50.23 while junior Nina Bourgeois (Rochester, Mass.) and senior Caroline Sullivan (South Hadley, Mass.) finished in second and third, respetively. In field events, junior Katherine Bullock (Cape Neddick, Maine) took third in the long jump and fifth in the triple jump.
