Trinity Women's Outdoor Track And Field Boasts Six Top-Three Finishes At Silfen Invitational

New London, Conn. - Junior Morgan Hallow (Charlotte, N.C.) won the 200- and 400-meter races and junior Devan Walsh (Danvers, Mass.) won the javelin throw to lead the Trinity College Bantams to fifth place in the Silfen Women's Outdoor Track and Field Invitational at Connecticut College this evening.  Trinity totaled 72 points to finish just a single point behind the host Connecticut College Camels.  Middlebury won the meet with 116 points.  Hallow won the 200 meters in 25.66 seconds and the 400 meters in 58.38 seconds, while Walsh took first in the javelin throw with a distance of 132'06". 

Trinity junior Peace Kabari (Manchester, N.H.) set a new Bantam record with a shot put of 46'09", breaking the mark she had set last week by 7.5 inches.  On Friday, Trinity first-year Marina Flandrick (Boulder, Colo.) had finished third in the pole vault with a cleared height of 10'08.00", while senior Anna Barnes (Storrs, Conn.) added a fourth-place time of 4:37.29 in the 1,500-meter run, and junior Nina Bourgeois (Rochester, Mass.) was seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 11:46.37. 

In relays, Trinity had a second-place finisher in the 4x800-meter (10:05.03) race and fifth-place performances in the 4x100-meter(50.39) race and the 4x400-meter (4:03.45) race.  Junior Rachel Scheub (Rochester, Mass.), sophomore Julia Burdulis (Hopkinton, Mass.), and first-years Bridget McKiernan (Providence, R.I.) and Izzy Montes de Oca (Carpinteria, Calif.). Juniors Katie Lazur (East Hanover, N.J.) and Hannah Neufeld (Burlington, Mass.) and sophomore Emma Buckley (Hanover, Mass.) ran in both relays, while Hallow rounded out Trinity's 4x400-meter quartet, and sophomore Mia Conte (Worcester, Mass.) was the fourth member of the 4x100-meter foursome.
