Trinity Women's Indoor Track And Field Shines At Massassoit Invitational

Springfield, Mass. - Senior captain Katie Lazur (East Hanover, N.J.) won the 400-meter dash and sophomore Marina Flandrick (Boulder, Colo.) won the pole vault, as the Trinity College Bantams competed in the Massassoit Women's Indoor Track and Field Invitational at Springfield College this afternoon.  Lazur and first-year Julianna Kennedy (Andover, Mass.) were 1-2 in the 400 meters just .16 seconds apart at 1:01.74 and 1:01.90.  Flandrick cleared a height of 10'08.00" to win the pole vault.  Trinity's 4x400-meter relay also finished first, winning by nearly eight seconds at 4:17.40.

In all, Trinity boasted 20 top-eight performances in the meet.  First-year Skye Embray (Los Angeles, Calif.) was second overall and fastest among four Bantams in the finals of the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.07, and also second overall and third of three Bantams among the top eight in the triple jump at 34'09.50".  Fellow Bantam rookie Reagan Gillooly (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed second in the 1,000-meter run with a time of 3:09.25, and senior Maeve Rabbitt (Concord, Mass.) was third in the 3,000-meter run at 11:11.30.  Trinity sophomore Aly Conde (Danielson, Conn.) highlighted the throws with a seventh-place toss of 33'00.50" in the shot put and an eighth-place distance of 39'05.75" in the weight throw.
