Volleyball Announces 2019 Schedule

Hartford, Conn. – The Trinity College volleyball team, led by Head Coach Jen Bowman (16th season), has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2019 season. In total, the Bantams will take to the court 23 times, highlighted by 13 matches in front of their home crowd inside Oosting Gymnasium. The Bantams will have 10 key New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) matches this season as they look to return to the post-season for the second year in a row.

The team enjoyed one of its more successful seasons in recent memory last fall, finishing with a 13-11 record and qualifying for the NESCAC Championship Tournament for the first time since the fall of 2014. The Bantams ultimately fell in the quarterfinals of the tournament, but bring back plenty of talent that should set the squad up to compete once again in 2019.

The Bantams open the season on the road at Coast Guard (9/4) before six consecutive home games, highlighted by the annual Trinity Invitational. The Bantams welcome Eastern Connecticut State (9/6), Clark (9/7) and Westfield State (9/7) to town as part of the two-day tournament. Trinity then hosts Western Connecticut State on September 11 before a doubleheader on September 14 versus Simmons and Southern Maine. The squad hits the road on September 20 for its first NESCAC match, at Williams, before traveling to Hamilton the following day (9/21). Trinity returns home for a September 24 match against Mitchell before heading to Worcester State on September 27. The Bantams finish the month of September with two matches on September 28, against Kean and UMass-Boston.

Trinity will begin October with four-straight conference games at home. Middlebury is the first to come to town (10/4) before a match against Amherst the following afternoon (10/5). The Bantams host Bowdoin (10/11) and Tufts (10/12) for the final home games of the regular season. The team then travels down the road for a match at in-state rival Wesleyan University on October 17 before playing Juniata (10/18) and Johnson & Wales (10/19) in Middletown that weekend. Trinity concludes the regular season with a trip to Maine to take on Colby (10/25) and Bates (10/26) before a November 2 match at Connecticut College.
