Hartford, Conn. — The Trinity College women’s volleyball program fell in its final game of the week, losing in straight sets to Amherst Saturday afternoon. The Mammoths (12-1) remain perfect in NESCAC play, handing the Bantams (7-8) its fourth league loss of the season.
Once again, sophomore Ally Conde (Killingly, Conn.) led the Bantams offense, earning a team-high nine kills and a .227 hitting percentage. The Bantams as a team hit just .053, but threatened in all three sets, including a close second set that saw the Bantams out in front for much of the set.
Sophomore Hareena Johnson (Los Angeles, Calif.) followed Conde with four kills, and both freshman Molly Bernstein (Oakland, Calif.) and senior Colette Scheffers (Flossmoor, Ill.) contributed three kills apiece. Freshman Emma McGraw (San Diego, Calif.) led the team with 12 assists, with junior Jessica Yang (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) pitching in nine assists and a team-high seven digs.
The Bantams are back in action on Friday, taking on Bowdoin at home with an 8 p.m. start time.
