Jen Bowman enters her 16th season as head coach of the Trinity College volleyball team in 2019, having led the Bantams to seven of the last 10 NESCAC Championship Tournaments. Bowman is Trinity's all-time winningest volleyball coach with a 204-163 record at the College, while her 2011 team tied for second-most wins in program history with a 19-9 mark and advanced to the NESCAC Semifinals. She also compiled a 177-50 record in six years as the head volleyball coach at Frostburg State University and Bates College. Bowman is an associate professor of physical education in the Trinity athletic department.

Bowman won over 71 percent of her matches in four years at NESCAC rival Bates, including a 31-9 mark and an appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship Regional Finals in 2000. In four years, Bowman guided Bates to four NESCAC Championship Semifinals and two NESCAC Finals. She ranks among the best active Division III coaches with a winning percentage of .648 (348-189). Trinity volleyball players excel in the classroom as well year after year. Bantam volleyball players claimed the senior female scholar athlete of the year awards at the College's athletic banquets each year from 2012 to 2014 and its junior female scholar athlete of the year in 2012 and 2013. The last two years, Trinity received an American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Academic Team Award.

A widely-respected coach, Bowman has served on a number of AVCA committees, and has been the NCAA representative for NESCAC. Also a graduate of the NCAA Women’s Coaches Academy, Bowman did her undergraduate work at Salisbury University and received a bachelor’s degree in geography in 1997. She was a four-time all-conference and a two-time all-region volleyball and softball player at Salisbury. Bowman earned her master’s degree in post-secondary education from Salisbury in 2004, and she has held a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist qualification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Bowman was inducted into the Salisbury Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007.
