Trinity Women's Cross Country Heads To Maine Saturday For NCAA Regional Meet

Hartford, Conn. - The Trinity College women's cross country team, coached by George Suitor (28th Season), will compete in the NCAA Division III New England Championships on Saturday, Nov. 16 at Bowdoin College.  The Bantams have enjoyed a stellar 2019 campaign so far with first-place finishes in both the Tri-State Invitational in Rhode Island and the James Earley Invitational at Westfield State University.  Senior co-captain Samantha Feenstra (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) just missed earning New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) All-Conference honors with a 15th-place finish in the conference championships on November 2. She hopes to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships next weekend  in Kentucky.

Feenstra won the UNE Invitational in Maine and the Tri-State Invitational in Rhode Island this fall and posted a career-best time of 22:08.5 in the Connecticut College Invitational.  Junior Julia Burdulis (Hopkinton, Mass.) has three finishes among the top ten in invitationals this fall, while senior co-captain Nina Bourgeois (Rochester, Mass.), sophomore Izze Montes De Oca (Carpinteria, Calif.), and first-year Reagan Gillooly (Shrewsbury, Mass.) are also hoping to perform well in their final race of the season.
