Trinity's Feenstra Finished 118th In NCAA Division III Women's Cross Country Championship Meet

Louisville, Ky. - Trinity College women's cross country senior co-captain Samantha Feenstra (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) posted a 118th-place time of 22:59.6, representing the Bantams in the NCAA Division III Championship Meet at Tom Sawyer State Park this afternoon.  Trinity's first female competitor in the National Meet since 2004, Feenstra was among the top 100 for the first half of the 6,000-meter race, before finishing among a group of five harriers all within 0.4 seconds of each other.  Parley Hannan, of Ithaca College, finished first among the field 280 runners with a time of 20:53.8 on the muddy and slippery course in a steady rain.

"Sam ran a solid race and it was a great experience for her to compete at Nationals for the first time," said Trinity Head Coach George Suitor. "I am so proud of the improvement she has made over four years. Qualifying for the National Meet was incredible achievement."
