Hartford, Conn. – Senior co-captain Samantha Feenstra (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) saw the highest placement in her NESCAC Championship career, crossing the line 15th in the 2019 NESCAC Cross Country Championship Saturday afternoon. The team placed 11th overall, running against some stellar times on the afternoon.
The meet, hosted by Williams College and at the Mount Greylock Regional School course, saw fantastic conditions, seeing the host school take the crown. Tufts, Bates, Middlebury, and Bowdoin rounded out the top five, with the Bantams finishing just seconds behind Hamilton.
Feenstra didn’t break her personal record set at Connecticut College, but still ran an impressive time in front of a great crowd, crossing the line with a time of 23:01. Junior Julia Burdulis (Hopkinton, Mass.) joined Feenstra in the top-50 club, finishing the afternoon in 35th with a final time of 23:44. Senior co-captain Nina Bourgeois (Rochester, Mass.) placed 58th, knocking ten seconds off last season’s performance with a time of 23:13.
The Bantams will take next weekend off before regrouping before traveling to Bowdoin November 16 for the Division III New England Regional.
