Hartford, Conn. — The Trinity College women’s cross-country team picked up its first team win of the season, besting six other teams at the Tri-State Invitational Saturday afternoon. The Bantams placed six runners inside the top 10, and ran an average of a minute faster than every other team on the day.
Eastern Connecticut and Salve Regina rounded out the top three, with Brown University Running Club, Johnson and Wales, Nichols, and Mitchell rounding out the field.
Senior Samantha Feenstra (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) took first on the day, crossing the line with a final time of 19:26.4; junior Julia Burdulis (Hopkinton, Mass.) finished right behind her, placing second after crossing the line at 19:52.2. Senior Nina Bourgeois (Rochester, Mass.) and sophomore Isabella Montes De Oca (Carpinteria, Calif.) placed fourth and fifth, senior Rachel Scheub (Rochester, Mass.) finished seventh, and freshman Raegan Gillooly (Shrewsbury, Mass.) placed ninth.
