Came to Trinity College in 2013 to Direct the Quest, Wilderness & Leadership, Pre-Orientation Program. He also brought Outdoor Education to Trinity College's Recreation program. Johnson has worked for a number of outdoor education programs, managing, training and teaching leadership development, including Outward Bound. During the 2015-16 school year, Johnson was named the Director of Recreation for the College.
After graduating from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Kinesiology in 2004 he worked in Cooperstown, NY as the Assistant Director of Adventure for the Clark Sports Center. In 2006 while training staff to facilitate teambuilding and extended wilderness trips he began teaching for the State University of New York, Oneonta’s campus in their Outdoor Education minor program. Additionally, Johnson runs all the other aspects of recration at Trinity College including all club sports, the intramural sports program and group fitness classes.
Johnson holds certifications in emergency medicine as a Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician and Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician. He also holds several certifications from the American Mountain Guide Association, amga.com, as a certified Rock Guide, Rock Instructor and Single Pitch Instructor.
